The DHS appropriations bill, which includes ICE, has not been finalized. There is no enacted bill “allowing ICE to raid schools and hospitals,” and there is no new policy written by Senator Collins authorizing warrantless raids. That claim is FALSE.

When enhanced ICE enforcement operations in Maine sparked fear and backlash, Susan Collins directly engaged with DHS leadership. Following those discussions:

Senator Collins has pushed for specific reforms, including:

  • Funding for body cameras

These are accountability measures, not the removal of “restraints.”
